PAYS Graduation Celebrates 41 Graduating Students

Congratulations to the PAYS Class of 2022 future-ready graduates! The PAYS Graduation Ceremony to celebrate 41 graduating students from Central High School and Lake View High School was held Wednesday Night, December 14, 2022 at the Sarah Bernhard Theater in celebration of our final future-ready graduates of the year. 

“We are so proud of our PAYS graduates who have overcome adversity to accomplish their goal. SAISD is honored to offer this opportunity to students who need an alternative to traditional education. Congratulations graduates,” said SAISD Board Trustee Ami Mizell-Flint. 

PAYS Principal Claudia Becerra opened the commencement followed by a welcome message and pledge led by Graduate Alexander Hubbard.  PAYS Assistant Principal Bernie Riojas introduced SAISD School Board members and SAISD administrators present to celebrate the occasion, including Superintendent Dr. Carl Dethloff, and Deputy Superintendent/Chief Academic Officer Dr. Farrah Gomez.

Principal Becerra then addressed the graduates, with a personal message and in celebration and acknowledgement of the hard work of each graduate in reaching their milestone accomplishment. 

Graduate Lexy Rangel, followed with a special message for her fellow graduates. Principal Becerra then presented the Class, and Mrs. Mizell-Flint addressed and accepted the class, sharing a message of congratulations and inspiration.

Following each graduate’s walk across the stage to accept their diploma, Graduate Benita Iniguez spoke at the closing before Ms. Becerra proudly presented the graduating class and graduates tossed their caps in a final culmination of the event before celebrating with families and friends.
